RU 02/2009 - FOCA, first criminal law of Obama
USA: A true Tsunami will invade the United States on January 22nd, 2009 when Obama
commits his first crime against humanity as President of the United States: the ratification of the law FOCA (Freedom
of Choice Act). This bill is signed, inter alia, by… Hillary Clinton. It
sweeps away the totality of the regulations limiting in some way the abortions,
exceeding by far the law Roe v. Wade
which introduced in 1973 the legal abortion to the U.S. The FOCA law will do a hundred
times more: it recognizes the free
choice of abortion as a “fundamental right” to each woman, excluding “any
interference or discrimination”. That will have terrible consequences: All hospitals,
including the catholic hospitals (i.e. 30% of the hospitals of the United States),
must “propose” abortion, which will oblige the bishops to close their hospitals.
- The particularly barbaric late abortions, until the last day before the
childbirth, are “to be offered” without discrimination. - All the American
taxpayers will have to participate by their taxes in the expenses of the abortions.
- All the conscience objections of the medical personnel are illicit face to
the absolute will of the woman to get an abortion. - No condition, like the
preliminary consultation, can be maintained. - The women have the absolute
right to choose freely the implantation of an artificially fertilized embryo
clone, whatever its final destination. - Teenagers will not need anymore any parental
agreement for proceeding with the abortion. - It has been calculated that the
abortions will increase by at least 100,000 per annum because of FOCA. - The
premiums and subsidies granted to childbirth must also be granted to abortion.
- One expects that the arrogant logic of FOCA, by the splendid self-attribution
of all rights, could in the future even lead to amendments which impose the
abortion in certain cases (rape, trisomic or
AIDS babies…) and even prescribe the number of children to each woman,
like in other totalitarian states.
Facing this disaster which
characterizes already Obama, together with Mrs. Clinton and the majority of the
other members of the American Congress, as belonging to the worst criminals
against humanity, the American bishops ring the alarm bell. Cardinal Justin
Rigali, president of the pro-life Commission of the conference of the American Catholic bishops, wrote on September
19th, 2008 to the members of the American Congress: “Despite its deceptive
title, FOCA would deprive the American people in all 50 states of the freedom
they now have to enact modest restraints and regulations on the abortion
industry. FOCA would coerce all Americans into subsidizing and promoting
abortion with their tax dollars. And FOCA would counteract any and all sincere
efforts by government to reduce abortions in our country… We can’t reduce abortions
by promoting abortion.” – One important detail: the FOCA law recognizes the basic
right of the woman to abort even a “viable” baby (which means a late abortion)
“when it’s necessary to protect the life or health of the woman”. That sounds not so bad, but the truth is
quite elsewhere. FOCA refers expressly to a former law called “Doe v. Bolton”
of 1973 where this term “health” is defined as including “all factors -
physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age – relevant to
the well-being of the patient”. Let’s say it bluntly this way: first the
swimming pool, and later on the baby! (therefore: abortion)…
In front of this monstrosity
which could become reality on January 22nd, 2009, a serious self-criticism becomes
necessary. All our thundering pro-life strategies - congresses, marches, fliers,
signatures, public prayers, distribution of baby dress packages … - did not
reduce the number of abortions, but increased them throughout the last 35 years,
at least in Europe. Worse: our manner of
acting, far from curing the evil, exacerbated our enemies, so that they now impose
laws which are worse than in the beginning. It’s necessary to re-examine everything
according to the principles of the Gospel, and to start again from ground zero:
The Good Samaritan, the Beatitudes, the Evangelical firmness, the sermon about
the hell… Abortion is an inter-Catholic problem. If we are one billion Catholics
over the world, we are able to stop this massacre, but only if we act with the
force and fire of the Trinitary God - who is Love - and not according to far
too human stratagems. It will thus be necessary to start again from the lowest level, by the love of the neighbour,
in order to reabsorb this wound of humanity, and to fight at the same time
against those who are committing this evil at the legislative level, perhaps by
putting at risk even our own lives. It is necessary to heroically help and
defend the smallest, weakest, and most innocent of all human beings: the BABIES
before birth. “What you will have done to the smallest one of my brothers and
sisters, it’s to Me that you will have done it”. - (Ru) - - O.A.M.D.G. - -
